Low income individuals are eligible to receive assistance with problems related to Medicare and Medicaid, Food Stamps, AFDC, consumer, landlord and tenant, public housing, Social Security terminations, civil rights, employment discrimination, pensions, education, and family matters. Assistance will not be provided with criminal cases, traffic violations, or fee-generating cases. There are limited funds available to assist victims of domestic violence and the elderly who are not low income. Please call the Helpline phone numbers to make an appointment. Administers programs serving the interest of older persons, caregivers, family members, friends, elected officials and other human services agencies- the Elder Helpline provides information and referral to Alachua, Bradford, Citrus, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Marion, Putnam, Sumter, Suwannee and Union Counties.
