Description:

Information and Assistance: access to information and resources about aging. A database of programs and services found locally, statewide and nationally that promote the well-being, independence and self-determination of older adults. Care coordination: comprehensive assessments of older adults to identify needs, initiate service plans, make referrals, arrange and coordinate services, and monitor progress. Active Adult Senior Centers: serving daily congregate lunches, and offering a wide variety of activities and programs with a concentration on wellness. In-Home and Community Based Services to include: the Senior Day Program, Home Care Assistance, Meals on Wheels, Companion Aide Registry for the Elderly, Friendly Visitor and Telephone Reassurance. Services also include: Dental Care Assistance, Long Term Care Ombudsman, Volunteering and Internships.

The Prince William Area Agency on Aging is one of 670 agencies in the national network of Area Agencies on Aging. The Agency provides residents of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park information about and assistance with aging issues. The Agency helps older adults maintain their independence and quality of life through programs such as senior centers, a senior day program, care coordination, and information and assistance to include health insurance counseling. Caregivers also receive assistance through these programs and the caregivers' support groups.
