Elder Care Servies Serving Ft Myer, VA

Investigates reports of abuse, neglect (including self-neglect) and exploitation of adults and acts to correct the situation

LSNV's Elder Law unit provides legal assistance to persons 60 and older, regardless of income or resources, on such matters as Medicaid, Medicare, & other healthcare issues, nursing home & assisted living issues, & guardianship. Also prepares wills.

Provides assistance to Arlington and City of Alexandria residents with Medicare questions, as well as reviewing and signing up for Medicare Part D plans. Also, helps these residents find other ways to pay for medications.

Provides information about long-term care providers to assist in making an informed decision; assists in resolving complaints through mediation or investigation; assists in exercising residents' rights; weekly visits by volunteers to residents.

Information, counseling, and referral on aging and long-term care issues for older Virginians and their families.
