The Board on Aging and Long Term Care primarily advocates for people aged 60 and older, who reside in a Nursing Home (NH), Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF), Adult Family Home (AFH) or receive funding through The Community Options Program (COP).

The Vernon County Aging Unit utilizes federal, state, and other funding, including donations, to provide benefit specialist, nutrition, caregiver, transportation, and other programming according to the federal Older Americans Act and Wisconsin State statute policies and procedures. They also work in collaboration with the Western Wisconsin ADRC in ensuring older adults have access to Information and Assistance and related services and programs to assist them in living independently in the community.
