APS has been established in each county in NJ to receive and investigate reports of suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation of vulnerable adults living in the community. APS will send a trained worker to the alleged abused person's home to assess the validity of the report. If the report is confirmed, and the vulnerable adult is willing to accept help, the worker will take steps to identify and put in place services that can help protect the vulnerabl person.
